Mahe Island Tour
Discover the main highlight of one of the World’s smallest capital, Victoria, visit at the centre of Victoria and the animated market to explore the colorful market of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and spices. You will have an opportunity to see the clock tower one of the most iconic historical features of Seychelles, the Victoria clock tower, is dated back 115 years. It was on April 1, in 1903 that the clock tower was installed in the centre of Victoria, the capital of the island nation. With its brightly painted decor, Victoria’s small but eye-catching Hindu temple stands out among a row of nondescript buildings a must see décor.
Continue the tour visit the Mission Lodge which was then called Venn’s Town and was founded in 1835 by the Church Missionary Society. This was the island’s first school which was built for children of the freed slaves who could not return to their homeland and they could speak neither English nor Creole. They chose this site as it was the cheapest crown land available, at a yearly rental fee of 50 acres for 50 cents at that time!
